4:00-4:30: Structured exercise in group therapy.
The participant will be able to discuss the history of the use of group therapy in the treatment of addictions.
The participant will be able to identify different types of group therapy sessions including psycho-educational groups, process groups, here and now groups, self-awareness groups, etc.
The participant will be able to describe group facilitation skills and explain why group therapy has become an integral part of addictions treatment.
Workshop will include lectures, a video presentation of a group facilitation, and group exercises with feedback.
