The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County and the Northern Ohio Recovery Association (NORA) hosted the 8th Annual Northeast Ohio Recovery Celebration on

Nearly 300 people enjoyed dinner, a performance by Orange High School student Praxton Smith on mandolin, a praise dance by Tishawnia Gregory, a keynote address by Francine Mann and the presentation of this year’s Advocacy Awards.

Don Davies, New Directions, received the Cuyahoga County Advocate Award;
Harold Butcher, Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, received the
Lorain County Advocate Award; and Myron J. Lewis, Akron Health Department,
received the Summit County Advocate Award.

The Intercontinental Hotel provided a lovely
“emergency” location for the evening when the original
venue at the Crowne Plaza was unable to hold the event
due to an electrical problem.

Guests arrived to Orange High School student Praxton
Smith playing violin. Later in the evening, Praxton played
the mandolin and sang a song that she wrote.
